Are you ready to make a casual shirt? This class eases you into shirt making without having to tackle all the details of a classic button-down shirt yet. Notched, convertible and flat collars are a great way to learn how to sew sharp points and learn how to finish the raw collar neck edge. Yokes are always fun and you will learn the “burrito” method of enclosing your seams which results in the inside looking just as polished as the outside. All the shirts have a relaxed fit and omit trickier details such as plackets and cuffs which will be tackled in the following class, Garment 302: Button Down Shirt.
Let’s go easy on ourselves on our shirts and avoid stripes, plaids and the corresponding level of difficulty that working with those patterns entails.
