The Davenport and Nicks are perfect throw-on and go dresses and tops. Both loose fitting dresses include a back yoke, gently gathered sleeves and a ruffled skirt. No need to worry about closures as both patterns pull over the head and the buttons on the Nicks don’t need to be functional.
In class we will go over how to clean finish a yoke, create even gathers and easily sew a ruffled hem. Other topics will include how to make simple adjustments to the patterns to create more options – such as a Davenport top or a shorter Nicks dress.
SKILL LEVEL: INTERMEDIATE
PREREQUISITE: Garment 201 or equivalent experience.
You should have previous machine sewing experience and have completed several garments. You should be comfortable taking your measurements and using those to read the back of the pattern to determine the necessary supply amounts.
