Stitch 103: Wool Felt Applique

Felt appliqué is all about layering different colors and shapes of wool felt with intricate embroidery patterns to create a gorgeous textured picture. This is a fun next step project to enhance your embroidery skills while learning how to use templates and stitch guides rather than a design printed on fabric. In class we will discuss the best techniques for cutting and sewing with felt in addition to how to incorporate additional stitch patterns into the project to make it even more unique. The finished project can be displayed in the hoop or used as embellishment on other projects such as a pillow or bag.

You will start your appliqué project in class and finish it up at your own pace on your own.

SKILL LEVEL: BEGINNER

PREREQUISITE: Stitch 101: Embroidery or equivalent experience.
