Learn how to turn your scraps into useful items for the home. Inspired by the hand quilting techniques of Kawandi quilts, from the African Diaspora /Siddi community of India using scraps of saris, batting and a backing and stitched together from the outside in and Kantha quilts which are from present-day Bangladesh and West Bengal where they use rags with multiple layers of fabric. We will learn the process by making coasters from scraps of fabric, batting and perle cotton thread.
