Unfortunantely our Sew Expo class, A Perfect Hem the First Time Around, has been cancelled. We are disappointed as well and apologize for any inconvenience. We would like to offer you an instore coupon to thank you for interest in our class and your support. Please email me directly at erin@pacificfabrics.com so I can send you your coupon.
Have you ever been almost finished with a garment only to get stumped with how to best hem it? Fabric type and weight can make a huge impact on how successful a pattern’s standard instructions turn out. (My personal favorite are instructions on hemming knits that completely ignore the fabric’s tendency to get stretched out and wavy as you sew.) You will learn and practice different techniques using woven and knit fabric samples in various weights and what notions can make hemming easier and more precise. These samples can be attached to corresponding pages with the information printed on it to create a reference library to determine what the best technique will be, regardless of what the pattern instructions say.
This kit will include all the supplies needed for the Sew Expo class to practice the techniques demonstrated.
Please bring basic sewing supplies such as scissors, seam ripper, chalk or other temporary marking tool, and a seam or measuring gauge with you. If you have a mini or travel iron and a portable ironing pad, we ask you to bring that as well as there will be limited ironing stations available in the classroom.
Please note that you will pick up your kit when you check in for the Sew Expo Hemming Kit class on Wednesday, February 28th at the Puyallup Fairgrounds.
